Pattern Tester Application // Fall 2019

The Rolling Pastures Shawl

My Rolling Pastures Shawl is an asymmetrical triangle shawl that features a squishy garter backdrop and an off centered panel of faux cables. I envision the “cable” being worn either front and center in a bandanna style, but it would also look lovely wrapped around your shoulders. The beautiful texture and drape of this design pulls inspiration from the gentle undulating fields in a horse pasture and the trickling little stream running through it. Relaxing garter and a small pop of “focus-on-me”, this makes for a lovely everyday autumn shawl!

The application period will be open for three days and testers will be chosen and notified via email on September 15th, 2019 after 5 PM EST.

Yarn: Chelsea Luxe DK, or 660-690 yards of DK weight yarn.
Needles Used: US 7/4.5 mm knitting needles.
Notions: Stitch markers (4-5), row counter (optional), tapestry needle, scissors.
Sizes: one size (can be easily adjusted to be larger or smaller due to the design repeat being continued)).
Finished measurements (in inches): final blocked measurements TBD.

I’m still determining the average yardage required based on the potential suggested yarns, but I designed this to use approximately three skeins of DK weight yarn.

Knitting techniques to be used: Long tail cast on, knitting, purling, increases (yo, M1L, M1R), and decreases (k2tog, and ssk).

Knitting level for this test: Ambitious beginner wanting to practice knitting increases, decreases and how to “read your work”. (I would also consider this test knit a breeze for intermediate and advanced knitters.)

Test Deadline: October 13th, 2019 by 5:00 PM EST (Total 4 Weeks Knitting Time)

Compensation: You will be given a copy of the pattern via email upon release. From an exclusive “Pattern-tester-only drawing”, one lucky tester will also receive an additional surprise reward.
